Fueling My Fitness: How MyFitnessPal Transformed My Eating Habits

For the topic of this blog, I would like to shine a light on another health/fitness app that I actively use throughout my routine called MyFitnessPal. For many people, one of the most challenging obstacles in attempting to improve their weight and appearance is not exercising but understanding what they are eating and putting in their bodies. Whether your goal is to lose weight or gain weight with some muscle, the process won’t be as effective unless you closely examine what kind of food and nutrients you’re eating daily.

With MyFitnessPal, it can be significantly easier to keep track of what you have been eating the past year and begin to understand what needs improving in your dieting. The app’s function is very simple as users will either look up the type of food or food brand on the app that’s closest to what they ate or simply scan the food brand they ate and log it into their app’s diary to examine what may need to change. You can edit the app to match the typical number of calories, nutrients, and protein that someone your age and gender should have, along with raising the required amount to what you may be striving for if you are looking to eat more to gain weight or less to cut down. This app really comes in handy since, honestly, I doubt I would be motivated to constantly write down and log every meal and piece of food I eat throughout the year by hand. The app’s simplistic design and ability to save previous meals and items make it a huge time saver. Now granted, there are moments when I may forget to fill in a day or two, but you can easily go back to a certain day of the week and fill in what you have missed. With the app, I can understand how much protein I still need during the day and how many calories I need to eat to reach my limit. I highly recommend trying this app if you want to improve your health.
